I don't like getting a book with no warning that I need to buy more books for the conclusion ! Good if not twisted characters. You can't help feeling for each. The story line is good, I got so wrapped up in it.

Totally enjoyed Alexius' story. It is hard to set it down. The story is a great introduction to the entire Dark Sovereign series. Alexius sets up the stories for Nicoli, Caelian, Isaia, and Maximo. Bella's story telling makes you enter their world. Can't wait for Maximo's story.......

Bella J is AMAZING! The Dark Sovereign series is a must read! You will be drawn into each one as if you are actually there. I will admit I was leary about the sharing/adult club but once I started reading, I was hooked. If you are looking for a dark mafia book, look no farther. You will feel each emotion, the love, heartbreak, happiness.

I am already hooked on this story after this first book of the series. Getting ready to purchase the next one after this review! The story flows along at a good pace and the characters are well thought out. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next since this ended on a cliffhanger!

The reviews I saw didn't say anything about this book being the beginning of a sequel or series. I'm disappointed in not knowing the ending. Who's the killer? Will Alexius and Leandra find piece and happiness together or part ways?

That twist though!!The imagery and characters are worn so well and keep you sucked into the story. The twists that become woven into the plot get heavier as you read on. Falling for her and then … note I must read book two

I actually HATE reading and might read a book every 5'ish years.....I have now read this whole series (10 books as of right now) plus the two Club Myth books that are characters from the DS series and 2 others written by this same author. They are all great books! I read those 14 books in just 5 months.... that's how great they are! They keep you enthralled in the story and you can never put your book down!**Forewarning.... it's steamy, smutty, and everything in-between! Everything you want in Dark Mafia romance!

Alexius is a dominant delicious VERY STRONG SEXUAL MAN who knows what he wants and isn’t ashamed to admit it. This story isn’t your average vanilla story , his appetite is extremely strong as he is cruel.FMC Leandra is a strong woman with a backbone and pride and isn’t shy to stand up for herself, I really liked her character and how she stood up for her beliefs and didn’t shy away from her sexuality, some female characters are made with no personality or wishy washy, but not Leandra , she knows pain and she deals with her reality but when she deals with Alexius she meets him blow by blow with her class intelligence and strength. There happens to be a mystery of murder about who’s doing it which makes this read completely different than any other story I have read …..There is a cliffhanger and the reader is brought into the story wondering what will happen next. So I suggest you start reading and include the audiobook with it opened mind because it’s not the romance for the faint of heart. But it will rock your world!!!! Happy Reading ;*)~

Which brings me to Alexius, the morally gray, possessive mafia king who did things to my brain (and my soul) that I’m still processing.First of all, let’s take a moment to appreciate Leandra, our leading lady. Every time I see a woman refusing to be a victim, owning her sexuality, and making ruthless men crumble at her feet, I throw metaphorical confetti. And by confetti, I mean my standards for book boyfriends rising even higher.Now, let’s talk about Alexius. Ruthless? Check. Passionate? Check. Obsessive and jealous? Double check. Good with his tongue? Ma’am, do I look like I can still form coherent thoughts? He let her under his skin, and let’s be real, I wouldn’t mind being under his either.This book also gives us a juicy unaliving mystery, mafia succession chaos, and a little something-something that I’m still recovering from—the two brothers scene. I won’t say more because my brain short-circuits just thinking about it.Final verdict? Turns out to be a real Mafia romance.His life style becomes her and she blossoms under this new life with the help of his sister. She walks the walk and dresses the part easily but, something changes and they both realizes their lust for each other and lust turns to possession until there is no way this marriage ends, because he will never let her go. The lead in to sex is phenomenal and with 3 equally tall and handsome brothers, things get interesting and unexpected …unexoected…..next read please.

OMG didn’t know what to expect but did I ever enjoy every page. Not just hot and steamy but I’m so anxious to find out who the bad guy is, I think I know, but it could be either of two. I’m not going to give away anything so you must read. Why do I always love the bad guy. The scene with husband and 🔥🔥🔥and 🥰Ed. I started and finished in an evening. Going to read book two Friday, absorbing all I read.I love the personality of the brothers are all showing so I can’t wait to hear their stories. I felt he fell for her a little fast, but the story does flow along and it did provide me with the quick read I was looking for. I like how she gave a lot of back story so easily on main characters. If mob story strong alpha bad ssa guys hot steamy over the top grownup action in and out of the bedroom and men who can bring it in and out of the bedroom, you better get your copy be ready to memerized and not be able to put this book down.

One of the first Bella J books I have read & it will not be the last. I love the Dark Sovereign world & this book is a great introduction into what is truly a remarkable series.The story was very well written & the characters are portrayed in a way that makes you believe that they are real. I could understand Leandra & the emotions she was experiencing & Alexius had to become more tolerant because of the differences in their upbringing. While this story does end in a cliffhanger it does it in such a way that wants you to quickly pick up the next book. This is one of the best books that I have read & even when I realized it ended in a cliffhanger I was not disappointed as I was not ready to leave these wonderful characters.

Ultimatum givenSelf-Righteous MurdererSick Head of OrgConniving UncleAfter reading the first 17 pages, I could already tell what the deal between Alexius and Leandra will be and can already guess it will not go as either of them plan.While I am all for a spicy read, this book was mostly sex scenes or thoughts about sex with a little other substance thrown in. One of the scenes was really intense, and I hope we get to find out who the mystery brother was who got the pleasure of joining in.The substance that is included lays the groundwork for a good storyline, with the main problems being the fathers impending death, the murdered strippers, and the untrustworthy uncle.Now that Liandra and Alexius have seemed to sort their stuff out, hopefully we will get more of a story, especially since the book ends on a cliffhanger that brings a problem back to the forefront.Besides the overdone sex scenes this book was interesting and I couldnt wait to see how the story progresses, only it didnt really in this book so I will be continuing on to the next book because I just have to know who is our murderer. Also, how the brothers will go about solving the case.

This was…different. It popped up on one of my feeds, the reviews were a mixed bag, but I honestly would have appreciated a little warning in regards to specific tropes. Yes, it’s a billionaire mafia fake marriage turned romance…I think.Alexius isn’t bad…he just is a stone’s throw away from running his father’s empire, but they have hella illegal mob activities and crazy exclusive clubs, and he and his 3 other brothers share women (albeit all consenting but hello, just not my thing), and then he enters a marriage contract with Leandra, who is not without her demons, and while the author tries to use Leandra’s trauma as an excuse for some of this reverse harem behavior, I don’t think it conveys well.I am the wrong person to review that specific trope because I don’t understand it, and it does nothing for me except a constant shaking of my darn head. There’s a murder mystery thrown in here, and this book ends on a cliffhanger. I feel compelled to read the next one, but I’m not super excited, because I’m little worried of what awaits in the 🌶️ department.I *think/hope/pray* Alexius and Leandra will be exclusive to each other in their marriage in the next one, otherwise I can’t see myself continuing, but I REALLY want to know who the serial killer is here, so we shall see…

But his father insisted on one thing before he takes over. He must be married in two weeks.Alexis hates this. He is to rule this family, and does not need or want a wife. All he knows are women who are eager to be with him as a means to an end. He doesn't want that. He doesn't believe in love either, although he has seen that with his parents.Leandra is working in a diner in a rough part of Chicago. To say she is dirt poor is saying something. Having recently losing her abusive mother, she only seeks something better. When she gets to work that morning the other server gets really worked up by seeing the massive man sitting in a back booth drinking coffee and having breakfast. His eyes on Leandra. Knowing he is a part of the Dark Sovereign family has them both worried. Suddenly the bell over the door announces a new customer. But when Leandra looks, it is non other than Alexius and he is stalking towards her. He says her name and hands her an envelope and tells her she has 24 hours to respond, then he leaves.This family is so dark. From running private casinos and private sex clubs and basically owning everyone in the city, they are much feared for a reason. Never cross the family!Now Leandra has no clue what the letter meant, but assumes it's to work in one of the sex clubs. She wants no part of it. Then calls the number to tell them she won't do it, then hangs up. She picks up around her small apartment and gets ready for bed. Pulling out a dry package of noodles and starts to eat. Suddenly someone is pounding on her door. And there is Alexius. Demanding entrance.This story is so good, but very dark. The mafia family is not one to be messed with. But the hate and mistrust between these two begins to grow less. Suddenly Alexius wants to protect his new wife, and doesn't like or trust his feelings.Then everything goes from bad to worse. Alexius and his brothers need to fix things and find out who has threatened the family. Such a cliffhanger. So ready for book 2. Enjoy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ReviewI have been following Bella J on socials and have many of her books in my Kindle TBR, but this is my first book I have read by her and I’m literally asking myself why? Why have I not read her books before? OMG this book literally took my breath away and had me on the edge of my seat holding on for dear life!! It was freaking fantastic and I am definitely going to be reading more of this series and more.This is Leandra and Alexius’ story. Alexius must marry to ensure he gets what he has worked so hard all his life for. But he doesn’t want just any wife, he wants one that won’t be missed if she happens to disappear. He’s cold-hearted and ruthless and doesn’t need or want a wife but has to have one temporarily. Leandra is a waitress just trying to get by and make ends meet, until the most powerful man in the city walks in her diner and makes her an offer she can’t refuse.Alexius will down right make you angry one minute, melt your insides the next, and leave you needing and wanting more. This man tries so hard not to fall for his wife, And she tries so hard not to fall for her husband but it’s inevitable. Their road is not an easy one and there is danger lurking in the shadows trying to take everything away from Alexius and leave him with nothing.If you love a couple who is meant to be but fights their desires every step of the way and a story with a bit of danger and mystery then you absolutely have to read this. Bella leaves us with a pretty hefty cliffhanger that leaves you with so many questions but the wait for part two to Alexius and Leandra’s story is going to be worth the wait. Highly recommend this book!!

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trope: fake marriageAngst: 😱😱Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥I'm a little conflicted about this one. I actually really enjoyed the overall storyline. It was interesting, well written, and moved quickly. And smexy. Suuuuuuper hot and smexy. The chemistry and fire between the main characters was fantastic. We figure out very quickly that Alexius is an entitled man who "gets around" (the 'Zon didn't like my original wording) that doesn't think a lot of women in general. They're pretty much there for his own pleasure and he needs to find one he can use, quickly, to ascend to the mafia throne. He seeks out Leandra, a nobody without anyone, to use as his fake wife until he doesn't need her anymore. I actually found him to be really unlikeable at first 🤷🏻‍♀️. But then things change and he starts to grow feelings that he's never had before. A difficulty I had with the story was it felt like Alexius's "switch" in feelings about Leandra happens just like that... a switch. Completely apathetic towards her and then not. A complete jerk... and then not. It just seemed like he had no pull toward her except as a tool, until he had all the feelings for her. I did Leandra and how independent and how she became so comfortable with her sexuality so quickly. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this story, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit and am looking forward to the next book!
